CDP Theme Day: Creative Artisans

Over at City Daily Photo the theme day for May is 'creative artisans', a theme chosen by CDP bloggers.
This is an unfinished Blackburnian Warbler (hatch year male) model.  I'm taking the class through the Connecticut Natural Science Illustrators of the Yale Peabody Museum in New Haven, CT.

Dorie the instructor has several of her bird models on display in the dioramas at the museum.  Hopefully, if mine is good enough, it will end up there too!

  3. Ya! You made this birdie?? How sweet!
This beats drawing bugs, IMHO. LOL
You find the nicest things to study and do, Suzanne.

  4. I painted, and am still painting the little warbler. The model was cast by a master taxidermist from the Yale Peabody Museum. Fun! Working on another bug thought Dina. Maybe someday I'll do a scorpion like the one in Darjat.
