The big silos of Illinois

On route from St. Louis to Lake Geneva, WI we travels quite a few hours in Illinois where the silos are bigger and better than anything I've seen in New England.  These were all taken from the backseat of a moving car so the foreground of corn stalks are blurry.

A night at Busch Stadium in St. Louis

The sky was rather ominous that night but the Cards were playing and it was John Goodman night at the stadium.

Looks like it's time for another championship.  Somehow I don't think it will be this year though.

Here he is on the large screen on the field.  My lens wasn't zoom enough to get a good shot of him throwing the first pitch.  The Cards lost that night but we had fun anyway.

City Garden

"Citygarden, a project of the City of St. Louis funded by Gateway Foundation, has carved out three acres in the heart of downtown and transformed them into an exhilarating urban oasis featuring modern and contemporary sculptures, lush landscape, reflecting pools, a cafe, and a playful spray plaza.  You won't find wall or fences, admissions fees or do not touch sign, because at Citygarden you are always free.  Free to explore. Free to Play.  Free to feel inspired.

Thirsty? Just Whistle

The title of this post was the slogan for the Vess Beverage Company founded by Vess Jones in 1916.  It was originally named the Orange Whistle Company.  It's a 34 foot steel structure that was built in 1953.  Now it is located in the downtown area in St. Louis.

Volunteers Galore!

OK, so I'm just getting back to posting, sorry for the delay....things to do, places to go, people to see. You know how it goes.  This is the last of the Strawberry Festival photos, saved the best for last.  The festival wouldn't happen without all of the dedicated, hard working volunteers. Here is just a sampling of them.

Strawberry III

If it wasn't for dedicated OCC members and friends who tirelessly give of their time, the Orange Congregational Church just simply wouldn't happen.  Thank you.
