Outdoor still life

This little still life waiting to be photographed was on the grounds of the park by the Lockwood Matthews Mansion, I believe it was Matthews Park.  Sort of looks like a Keith Haring knock off.

Lockwood-Matthews Mansion

This is the Lockwood-Matthews Mansion located in South Norwalk, CT.  For those of you who are old enough to have watched the 1966-1971 tv series 'Dark Shadows' you might recognize this.  It was used in some of the outdoor scenes.  The mansion was quiet for many years and in disarray but has since been restored.  I went to an art opening there a couple of weeks ago.

Gone and Forgotten

A couple of weeks ago I visited this cemetery in Norwalk, CT.  It was rather curious in that one part of it was taken care fairly well and the other part was all but forgotten.
 Graves unkempt
A resting place for the living and the dead.

Shame on you.

Pomegranate

I just finished this pomegranate although the photo here doesn't do it justice really.  Watercolor/colored pencil on Fabriano 140# paper.

Good Friday

I know that I haven't been too active lately with my posts but I thought I'd share some photos that I took in 2008 when I spent Holy Week and Easter in Jerusalem.
Crosses waiting for pilgrims to carry along the Via Dolorosa
Mosaic inside of the Church of the Holy Sepulchure, taken before Good Friday.  Jesus being carried to the tomb.  The rest are pilgrims waiting to walk and then arrival at the Church.  The church was not open to the public until much later in the day on Good Friday.  Those who wanted to pray did so in the courtyard outside.  I sat for a very long time and meditated after walking the Via Dolorosa with my friends from the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
