Highfield Hall

Over the next couple of days I will continue to show you scenes from the Cape.  The stained glass windows in this post are in Highfield Hall, a restored historic mansion once owned by the Beebe Family of Boston.  Highfield Hall is in Falmouth, MA.
 I love pomegranetes!

It's never easy to shoot a stained glass window because of the lighting.  The light from the outside ran the whole spectrum from very bright to dark.

Friday at the Feeder

In April I went with the Youth Group to Nightwatch at St. John the Divine in NYC.  On the way out we saw one of two peacocks that live at the Cathedral.  They were pretty loud but this guy didn't show his feathers.  Next week I'll show you the other one.  Neither one was at a feeder or were being fed!

The Flume Fountain

A couple of weeks ago I was in West Falmouth, MA and drove down to Sandwich to visit the Heritage Museums & Gardens.  At the entrance was the Flume Fountain by Stephen Stimpson.  Quite intriguing.

The rhododendrons were in bloom and it was just beautiful.

Nine Varietal of the Strawberry Kind

Welcome to the Orange Congregational General Store at the Strawberry Festival
All sort of strawberry items were for sale including our famed jam.  This year we offered nine different varieties of jam with a strawberry base.

Holy Habernero was new this year!  Great labeling, eh?
Pies, mugs, cookbooks, jam and of course just plain old strawberries.

So yum. So good food.

Red Car Show

A few of the guys at OCC had the brilliant idea to include a 'Red Car Show' at the festival this year.  What a GREAT idea.  The red cars came streaming in to the fairgrounds, above are three coming in at once.  In the end there were 63 RED CARS!

George is helping to get the cars parked.  He's one of the ringleaders.
 Big one, little ones.

There was even a vintage ambulance with all of it's trimmings.

Friday at the Feeder

Here's Dave and Molly dishing up strawberry shortcake to us two footed hungry photographers.  That's after pulled pork, strawberry pie ala mode and a few too many chocolate dipped strawberries.
The next day while walking at High Plains Community Center where the festival was held someone else was still enjoying the benefits of a weekend strawberry festival.

Dip, Decorate, Devour

Annette showing us how to dip strawberries
She makes it look so easy
 And fun
 Someone else was decorating
And of course, others of us who were the devourers
