Kykuit

Up in Sleepy Hollow, New York is Kykuit, the Rockefeller Estate.   It is the estate that John D. Rockefeller built and was used by four generations of Rockefeller's.  It was not rambling as you might think but elegantly appointed with gorgeous gardens.  Governor Nelson D. Rockefeller was a collector of modern art and sculpture so throughout the gardens are very modern pieces, nicely done.

If you walk down from the front door to the fountain you have this view of the Hudson River.  So this is how Shell Oil magnets live.  More in the next day or two.

  1. I love the mansions. Seen a lot in the last couple years, including those in Newport. Love the Hudson, which I saw at Hyde Park last year.
