A study of Chondrus crispus

Chondrus crispus or Irish moss or carrageen moss is a red algae found on the Atlantic coast and Europe.  I found this specimen at one of the West Haven, CT beaches.

    Eeuw, I'd rather try to draw it than to step on it barefoot on the beach.
