Friday at the Feeder

I haven't done this in a while, that is post a Friday at the Feeder.  This is a Black-billed Magpie whose habitation is the northwest and in to Canada.  I had never seen a magpie before.  They are rather large birds maybe the size of a blue jay or larger.

The Lone Daisy

We are still at the John Denver Sanctuary in Aspen, Colorado.  Above a quote by John Muir and below a lone daisy that had fallen and drifted into a small stream in the sanctuary.

JDS 2

Continuing in the John Denver Sanctuary in Aspen, CO....above is an Aspen tree, they were so lovely against the virgin Mary blue sky.
Several small boulders were engraved with his songs and placed around the sanctuary.  It was landscaped quite handsomely.
Cling on Ray checking his messages.  FYI - cousins are blood, cling ons are not, the are spouses.

Cousin Gail and cling on Ray having a moment.
Self portrait.  We were listening to and singing along with Denver singing Poems, Prayers and Promises.

John Denver Sanctuary

I'll spend the next couple of days showing you the John Denver Sanctuary in Aspen, Colorado.  It was again a beautiful day so it was a bit hard to get some good shots because it was so bright.

Cousin Chris shooting the bull.
So many flowers were still in bloom (this was September) and yet the trees were starting to turn colors.

Early Morning View

This is the view from our condo porch in the early morning.  Snowmass, Colorado.  There will be plenty more balloon photos in a few days.  September is Aspen's big hot air balloon festival time.
