Friday at the Feeder

Parade Interrupted for Friday at the Feeder.  There were taken at the Norwalk Maritime Aquarium where they have a special exhibit on Lorikeets.  For $3 you could buy this very little, I mean tiny, cup of nectar.  So I did.  Feeding and photographing at the same time.
Left is a Swainson's Lorikeet and to the right is a Scaly-breasted Lorikeet.

Guess he had had enough.

My My My, where does the time go?

OS took a short hiatus and I've got lots of photos to show for it!  I'll begin with photos over the next few days of the Orange Memorial Day Parade.  Here are a few street scenes while waiting for the parade to begin.
The Orange Nursery School yearly bake sale.  SO yummy.

Seven Generations

St. John the Divine has a wonderful arts program, with lots inside and out.  This is a provocative sculpture by Frederick Franck.  What we do makes a difference, good and bad for seven generations after us.

St. John the Divine, NYC

In March I went with the youth group to Nightwatch at St. John the Divine in New York City.  We had a great time and I think I forgot to post about it not to mention that my photos got lost in the cloud somewhere.  I think I've found some of them so I'll post a few in the next day or two.

Tea for Two...or a few more.

The Ladies Philoptochos Society at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Orange held a tea for the ladies of other Churches and Synagogues of Orange on Saturday.  I featured this group of very dedicated women on my other blog Wooster Square Daily Photo, I took several cooking classes from them.
These are my 'peeps', Carol, Mary, Jean, Ann, Marg.
Hats were optional and the women of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church were all over it.
Featured Speaker, Brenda Hemingway, the wife of Pastor Robert Hemingway at the Uttermost Deliverance and Restoration Ministries in New Haven, CT.
Musical entertainment featured Stacy Grimaldi, soprano and also the choir director at St. Barbara and Carolyn Halsted, accompanist.

Here's Jane Hadjimichael giving Ms. Hemingway a gift for the Uttermost Ministries.
It was a lovely and genteel way to spend a spring afternoon, NOT TO  MENTION, the fabulous Greek pastries.  The Philoptochos Society 'aid the poor, the destitute, the hungry, the aged, the sick, the unemployed, the orphaned, the imprisoned, the widowed, the handicapped, the victims of disasters, t undertake the burial of impoverished persons and to offer assistance to anyone who may need the help of the church through fund raising efforts.'

One Saturday in Central Park

About a month ago I visited a friend in NYC and while strolling through Central Park we came across this couple posing in a tree.  We surmised that it was a photo shoot for an album DVD cover, maybe a poster?  Funny thing though, the photographer was sitting on the ground and aiming at her boots.  Pretty elaborate poses just to shoot boots.

Friday at the Feeder

Well since I'm the creator and holder of this blog, and I claimed Friday as Friday at the Feeder I decided that it doesn't mean that it has to necessarily be a photo of birds at a feeder (even though I posted humans at a feeder).  I've deemed it to be now bird related (or maybe feeder related).  Anyway, just stalling because I don't have any new feeder material.

So here's a photo I took on the Gargoyles and Grosteques walking tour at Yale University.  Mom flew in and out a couple of times but I wasn't fast enough.  This is at Sterling Library.

Grandview Farm

On the way back from Silver Lake Conference Center in Sharon, CT drove by this lovely farm.  I think it is in Harwinton, CT.  The country in this part of CT is stunning.

Wisdom ROCKS at Clergy Camp

Yesterday at Silver Lake Conference a camp was held for Connecticut Clergy.  I facilitated the
'art experience' portion of the camp.  The theme for all art mediums was 'wisdom' but by far the most popular was rock painting.  Here are some of the wisdom rocks...

Morning Walk

iPhone shot from my first walk of the season.  Finally the weather has turned.  A couple of calves were out romping around at Shamrock Farm at the corner of Tyler City Road and Lambert Road.
